Prize Rules & Details

RULES

  • A student's overall fundraising total will be calculated based on online donations, corporate matching, and mailed checks received by the Marguerita PTA by 11:59 pm on November 19, 2020.

      • Corporate match donations will be counted toward the student’s total donations eligible for prizes if the match commitment is received by Marguerita PTA by November 19th.

  • The Grand Prize will be awarded to the top fundraiser, which is the individual student who collects the most donations. If multiple students tie for the highest fundraising totals, the final Grand Prize winner will be determined by a random drawing.

  • There is a limit of one Grand Prize/High Fundraiser Prize per student. The Grand Prize winner is not eligible for any other High Fundraiser Prizes.

  • For High Fundraiser Prize consideration, students must raise at least $100 and will be ranked by overall fundraising totals.

  • The number of students eligible for the High Fundraiser Prizes will depend on the final number of available High Fundraiser Prizes. Additional prizes may be added at any time until the announcement date of prize winners.

  • If a student qualifies for a High Fundraiser Prize, they will be notified to reply to an online DAT Prize Preference Ranking form by November 27, 2020. If Marguerita PTA does not receive the qualified student's completed DAT Prize Preference Ranking form, Marguerita PTA will choose the prize for the student.

  • Winners will be selected for individual High Fundraiser Prizes based on student prize preference and overall fundraising total.


For example:
  • Student A - fundraised $150
  • Student B - fundraised $200
  • Student C - fundraised $100

They all ranked their prize preferences as follows:
  1. Aquarium of the Pacific tickets
  2. Los Angeles Zoo tickets
  3. 85C Bakery Cafe Gift Card

The prizes will be awarded based on overall fundraising totals:
  • As the highest fundraiser who selected the Aquarium of the Pacific tickets, Student B will win their 1st choice prize, the Aquarium of Pacific tickets;
  • As the next highest fundraiser, Student A will win their 2nd choice prize, the Los Angeles Zoo tickets; and
  • Student C will win their 3rd choice prize, the 85C Bakery Cafe Gift Card.

  • In instances of ties, the prize winner will be determined by a random drawing.

  • Grand Prize and High Fundraiser Prize winners will be announced on December 1, 2020.

  • A prize distribution date for drive-thru pick-up of physical prizes at Marguerita School will be set up, if rules and policies allow. If a drive-thru distribution is not permitted, Marguerita PTA will arrange for delivery of prizes or a establish a location and date to meet up. Electronic prizes will be e-mailed to the email address provided in the Walkstarter site (marguerita.walkstarter.org).

  • Xbox Series S - The all new Xbox Series S game console will be released November 10, 2020. If shipping is delayed, the student will receive the console as soon as Marguerita PTA receives it.

  • Amazon Fire HD8 Tablet (32GB) - 10th generation, 2020 release, ad-supported. Black, blue, and white models available.

  • ThriftBooks $100 Gift Card - Redeem at ThriftBooks.com after setting up a customer account.

  • Costco $50 Gift Card - Costco Shop Card with $50 value. Nonmembers, as well as members, may use Costco Shop Cards to purchase merchandise and gasoline at any Costco location in the U.S., Canada, or Puerto Rico, as well as online at Costco.com and Costco.ca. Not redeemable for cash.

  • Classes that average $20 per student - Total class fundraising amount must average to $20 per student. Open Zoom Talk/Chat Party duration and restrictions are at the discretion of the class teacher.

  • Top Fundraiser in each class - Student will be allowed to choose the spirit dress theme for the class for a day. Theme must be school and dress code appropriate.

  • Surprise Prizes at DAT - Winners will be randomly selected from student names on class rosters. Any individual student whose name is selected must be present at the student's designated Dance-A-Thon session to win. If a selected student is not present, another name will be drawn.
